Ramble

Ingredients

2 oz

Plymouth Gin

1 oz

lemon juice

1¹⁄₄ oz

simple syrup

3

raspberry

Shake it Up

1. Short shake the gin, lemon juice and 3/4oz of the simple syrup with 3 ice cubes
2. Strain into highball glass filled with crushed ice
3. Add raspberries and rest of simple syrup into emptied shaker
4. Gently muddle and pour over the top of the drink; serve with a straw

An offspring of the Bramble, a very similar drink with blackberries instead of raspberries.

Notes & Review

An immensely drinkable and refreshing cocktail, although might be too sweet for some. The drink itself is delicious but I wouldn't say it's memorable. I also think the extra 1/2oz of simple syrup poured on top is gratuitous and maybe not needed. When I made the drink, I don't think I muddled the raspberries enough. If you muddle them enough, it would turn more into a syrup which would incorporate better into the cocktail.
