mint sprig
2 oz
Bols Genever
12 oz
Smith & Cross Traditional Jamaica Rum
1 tsp
demerara syrup
1 tsp
vanilla syrup
1 dash
The Bitter Truth Aromatic Bitters
mint bouquet as garnish


  1. Rub the mint around the inside of the julep tin and discard
  2. Add remaining ingredients (except bitters) to the tin
  3. Fill the tin halfway with crushed ice
  4. Stir with a spoon, churning the ice as you go, for 10 seconds, holding the tin by the bottom
  5. Add more crushed ice so the tin is two-thirds full and stir until the tin is completely frosted
  6. Add more ice to form a cone above the rim
  7. Top with the bitters
  8. Garnish with mint bouquet in the center of the ice
  9. Serve with a straw
