Ingredients

11⁄2 oz
Tapatio 110 Blanco Tequila
3⁄4 oz
lime juice
1⁄2 oz
cane sugar syrup
1⁄4 oz
Death & Co Grenadine
2 dash
Bittermens Hellfire Habanero Shrub
1
lime wheel as garnish
1
cherry as garnish

Shake it Up

  1. Short shake ingredients with 3 ice cubes
  2. Strain into highball glass with cracked ice
  3. Garnish with lime wheel and cherry flag
  4. Serve with a straw

Notes & Review

Very similar to a spicy margarita, this recipe diverges a bit from the spec of a traditional Mexican Firing Squad which usually has more grenadine (instead of the cane syrup) and Angostura bitters instead of the habanero shrub. In any case, it's delicious, although came off a tad too sweet.
