Whiskey Sour

2 oz
Buffalo Trace Bourbon
34 oz
lemon juice
34 oz
simple syrup
egg white
1 dash
Angostura aromatic bitters
orange crescent as garnish
cherry as garnish

Shake it Up

  1. Dry shake all ingredients, except Angostura, then shake again with ice
  2. Double strain into double rocks glass with one large ice cube
  3. Add dash of Angostura bitters on top
  4. Garnish with orange and cherry flag

Notes & Review

There is a reason why classics are classics. The Whiskey Sour isn't as popular as the Martini or Old-Fashioned or Manhattan but it's damn good if made with quality, fresh ingredients in the right proportions. Well balanced, easy to drink, and fun to look at too. The egg white is needed here, at least in this recipe, for both texture and to float the Angostura.
