Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey
1 oz
Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac
1 oz
Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth
1 tsp
1 dash
Angostura aromatic bitters
1 dash
Death & Co House Peychaud's Bitters
lemon twist as garnish

Stir it Up

  1. Stir all ingredients over ice
  2. Strain into double rocks glass
  3. Garnish with lemon twist

Notes & Review

Dry, dry, dry. This is a strong cocktail. But it's also quite well-balanced and smooth, a bit bitter but complex with a great mouthfeel. The lemon accent is key to pull it all together. The rye is slightly harsh to me so I'd try with bourbon the next time around.
