34 oz
Dolin Dry Vermouth
14 oz
Amaro CioCiaro
1 tsp
Luxardo Maraschino Originale Liqueur

Stir it Up

  1. Stir ingredients over ice
  2. Strain into coupe

Background & History

The Brooklyn cocktail was inspired by the already popular Manhattan and Bronx cocktails to further cover New York City's 5 boroughs. The original recipe calls for Amer Picon which the Amaro CioCiaro subs for here.

Notes & Review

A drier, more bitter Manhattan with a touch of sweet from the Maraschino liqueur but it's one of the first times I've really had to search for it (Maraschino can be a bully). Not a drink to under-dilute and potentially would benefit from a touch more vermouth and Maraschino. Some recipes (and even potentially the original) sub in Italian (sweet) vermouth which complements the rye whiskey better.
